Nachgebaute Bausteine

Dies sind alles offizielle, virtuelle Steine, welche Teil der LDraw Teile-Bibliothek sind.

Sollten Sie Interesse haben, virtuelle Bauteile für das LDraw System zu modellieren (es werden immer neue Designer gesucht), versuchen Sie es doch einfach. Setzten Sie sich als Maxime niemals aufzugeben! Rufen Sie sich einfach in Erinnerung, daß alle Topdesigner irgendwann mit den selben Schwierigkeiten kämpften, mit den Sie sich herumschlagen.

Ich begann im April 2002 für das LDraw System Bauteile zu modellieren. Da ich bereits einige Erfahrung im Modellieren von 3D-Objekten mitbrachte, war es ziemlich einfach den "Minifigur Schild Rund" (3876.dat) aus dem echten Stein zurückzuentwickeln. Ein Bremse waren lediglich die Spezifikationen eines neuen Dateiformats mit seiner auf den Kopf gestellten y-Achse und den Zwängen bei der Verwendung von gemischten Farben.
Als ich die "Grundplatte 32 x 32 mit Krater" (3947.dat) Mitte September 2002 zur Zertifizierung einreichte - bis dato das größte jemals modellierte Bauteil innerhalb der LDraw Bauteilebibliothek - dachte ich beinahe alles über virtuelles Baustein-Design zu wissen.
Ich wurde eines besseren belehrt! Es dauerte annähernd ein Jahr, bis ich "Back Face Culling (BFC)", kleine Kniffe wie Matrix-Spiegelung oder das richtige Setzen von Konditionierungslinien, in Verbindung mit Grundbauteilen beherrschte. Manchmal galt es beim Herumspielen mit den Programmwerkzeugen schlicht "meinen Weg" zu finden (wie schon Frankie Sinatra sagte). Kurioserweise habe ich nie die ursprünglichen Programme LDraw oder LEdit benützt! An diesem Punkt möchte ich Leuten wie Travis Cobbs, Chris Dee, Orion Pobursky, Ildefons Zanette (in alphabetischer Reihenfolge) danken, den Qualitätsprüfern und dem Rest der Gang auf forums.ldraw.org, welche mir einige Abkürzungen zeigten. Die untenstehende Übersicht zeigt, wohin dieser Weg letztlich führte. Die Liste ist chronologisch aufgebaut. Sie werden einen Hang zu Bauteilen feststellen, welche vor allem in "Classic Space" und "Western" Verwendung finden – nun ja, es sind meine Lieblingsthemen. Als kleiner Junge wolle ich immer Astronaut oder Häuptling "Sitting Bull" werden ;-) Ich habe mir zum Ziel gesetzt, irgendwann die darin noch fehlenden Teile zu modellieren.
