Ho cominciato a modellare parts per il sistema LDraw nell'aprile del 2002. Avendo già una discreta domestichezza con la computergrafica tridimensionale è stato abbastanza facile a "de-sviluppare" lo "Scudo Rotondo Minifig" (3876.dat). Veri compicapi costituivano solo un nuovo formato di file con alcune stranezze come l'asse Y capovolta o l'amministrazione di colori misti. Terminato la "Piastra di base 32 x 32 con crateri" (3947.dat) a metà settembre 2002 - fino ad ora il più grande file mai modellato all'interno della libreria LDraw - pensavo di sapere quasi tutto sul processo di design di parts LDraw. Mi sbagliavo di grosso! Alla fine c'è voluto quasi un anno intero a padroneggiare "back face culling" (BFC), piccoli trucchi come specchiare la matrice o l'esatto allineamento di "linee condizionali" in combinazione di parts primitivi LDraw. Qualche volta si trattava soltanto di trovare "la mia strada reale" (come già diceva Frankie Sinatra) e giocare con tutti quegli attrezzi software. Curioso il fatto che non ho mai usato i programmi originali LDraw ed LEdit! A questo punto vorrei ringraziare persone come Travis Cobbs, Chris Dee, Orion Pobursky, Ildefons Zanette (in ordine alfabetico), i revisori e il resto della banda su forums.ldraw.org, per avermi mostrato qualche scorciatoia. Dando un'occhiata alla tabella sottostante si vede dove queste vie e scorciatoie mi hanno portato. La lista è cronologica. Si noterà una tendenza verso parts usati nei temi "spazio" e "western" - beh, sono i miei temi preferiti. Da ragazzo sognavo di diventare astronauta o il capo degli indiani "Sitting bull" ;-) Punto a completare i temi un giorno. |
